The multiple tabs of same website problem is real. I think browser tabs do their job well, but as generalized solutions go, built-in tabs may fall short of providing a great user experience for your specific use case.

Technically, there's nothing stopping you from building your own multitasking solution inside your website. Be it floating windows, tabs, tiling windows like i3/hyperland or even hybrid. Maybe go as far as PostHog went, if it makes sense for you.

I observed in Sber our users sometimes would open up multiple (5-6) tabs to cross-reference resources. Giving them a business/domain orientated multitasking solution should, in theory, speed up their workflow if done right. However, it should be a calculated decision to spend teams resources on. Especially when there's business features piled up.
