The Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office Reported That Israeli Authorities Are Deliberately Targeting Freed Prisoners And Their Families With Death Threats, Raids, Arrests, And Physical Violence.
Recent documented violations include:
— Israeli forces raided freed prisoner Raed Badwan’s home (Badu, north of Jerusalem), destroying property and brutally beating him, requiring hospitalization, allegedly for hosting release celebrations.
— Zaid Amer’s family (Nablus) was threatened with their reception hall’s destruction to stop them from celebrating his release.
— Freed journalist Ashwaq Awad was summoned for interrogation at Etzion Detention Center.
— Additionally, the Abu Hmeid family was barred from traveling via the Karama Crossing to meet their deported sons in Egypt. Their elderly mother, also the mother of the late resistance leader Nasser Abu Hmeid, was turned back without explanation.
—— Israeli forces also raided numerous freed prisoners' homes, threatening re-arrest or retaliation if release celebrations continued.
