Eiland, the architect of the brutal 'Generals' Plan,' acknowledged that Hamas not only survived Israel's campaign but emerged stronger, solidifying its control over Gaza. He described the outcome as a "resounding failure" for Israel and added that there will be no renewal of the war.

The 'Generals' Plan,' which is said to have been devised to dismantle Hamas’s power, relied on inhumane measures: starving Gaza’s population, exterminating resistance, and forcibly displacing civilians from northern Gaza to isolate resistance fighters. This ruthless "surrender or starve" approach turned mass suffering into a weapon of war. However, Eiland admitted that the plan disastrously backfired, with Israel unable to prevent Hamas from regrouping and rearming under the terms of the ceasefire.
