The Guardian Reports That While Speaking At A Press Conference In Jerusalem, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Said That The Golan Heights Will Remain Part Of Israel “for Eternity.”
On Monday, Stéphane Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN Secretary General António Guterres said: “there should be no military forces or activities in the area of separation. And Israel and Syria must continue to uphold the terms of that 1974 agreement, and preserve stability in the Golan.”
Israel has occupied the Golan Heights since 1967, and the Israeli government officially annexed the region in 1981.
