Haaretz and other Israeli media outlets asked the court to lift a gag order on an affair concerning the Prime Minister's Office and the defense establishment
On Thursday, it was reported that an employee in the Prime Minister's Office spokesperson's department deals with security issues, although he had not passed the security clearance
In September, two foreign media reports, one in the German Bild newspaper and the other in the London-based Jewish Chronicle, were based on leaks from Hamas documents that had been classified as "internal and top secret"
Both reports were compatible with the messages advanced by Netanyahu. Bild is known for its long, close ties with the Israeli government and with Netanyahu
Bild published a document "that hadn't been known so far, from Hamas' military intelligence service," saying Hamas' strategy was to sow division in Israel
The report said the document had been taken from a computer that presumably belonged to then-Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and that Sinwar had confirmed its content
The IDF investigated the report and said at the time, "the document is an old one, which had been written as a recommendation by middle grade ranks in Hamas and not by Sinwar"
