Whatever our leaders tell themselves, Lebanese and Israelis living on both sides of the border in our two tiny, crowded countries are all targets

Israeli officials continue to repeat, with sincerity in their voices, that Israel is not at war with the people of Lebanon. To the greatest extent possible, our leaders repeat, we are only attacking military targets and doing our best to avoid the loss of life of civilians.
