Over the past few months, protests have continued to gain momentum, led by families and friends of the hostages, accusing Netanyahu of not doing enough to negotiate a return. This is the culmination of months of declining popularity for Netanyahu amidst actions that betray the Israeli hostages and confirmations from Israeli defense officials that Netanyahu has been sabotaging hostage negotiations.

....In Early March, Members of Israel’s security cabinet called out the lack of effort by Netanyahu to get hostages released.

This criticism of Netanyahu’s handling of hostage negotiations by sources in Israel’s security cabinet was a few weeks before the March 28th Haaretz article, which substantiated the already existing allegations of Netanyahu sabotaging Hostage negotiations. ...

: Netanyahu Is Sabotaging Chances for a Hostage Deal, and Defense Chiefs Are Angry

Did the Hannibal directive ever end?

Why would the motive inspiring the Hannibal directive dissolve after October 7th? (it wouldn’t, that is rhetorical)

....For strategic reasons related to Netanyahu’s personal motives as well as the motives of those around him who are on board with the expansionist Zionist Greater Israel agenda, the hostages are considered liabilities to Israel, and if they are returned, it may complicate things for the current Israeli establishment, in that it would be harder for Israel to justify continuing the indiscriminate assault on all of Gaza with the goal of displacing the entire population and establishing Jewish settlements to expand Israel’s territory.
