🔺 Top Freelancing Tips for Success in 2024: Consider and perfect your skill set
#Freelancetips

🔹 Highlighting any special skills you may have is another key ingredient to becoming a successful freelancer. When it comes to what to include, try to be as specific as possible.

🔹 For example, you might want to pursue administrative support. However, just saying that you’re familiar with Microsoft Office won’t tell potential clients much about why you’re the best choice for the role.

🔹 Mention any specialties you have, such as project management, tech support, or expense reporting. While it’s vital to stay honest, it’s equally important to give clients a thorough overview of why you’re the best person for the job.

🔺 Top Freelancing Tips for Success in 2024: Define your expertise and what you want to offer
#Freelancetips

🔹 Before you can start attracting your first clients, you'll want to sit down and get clear about the services you intend to offer. Consider not only your work history and expertise but also the type of clients you hope to attract.

🔹 From writing and design to accounting and software development, clients from a wide range of industries now use self-employed professionals on a regular basis. If you're just starting, don't be afraid to draw on your past work history to set yourself apart from the competition.

🔹 For instance, let's say you want to become a freelance writer. If you also happen to have a decade's worth of experience as a plumber, don't be shy about mentioning it. You'll quickly discover plenty of plumbing businesses would love to find a copywriter or content creator with a solid knowledge of their industry.

🔹 Keep in mind that starting a freelance career doesn't mean starting over from scratch. Any past experiences and expertise you have can go a long way toward attracting freelance clients.

🏥 Understanding Health Care for Freelancers
#Freelance

🔻 Why would I want to provide health care for freelancers? You might think that avoiding health insurance or health coverage is one of the benefits of working with freelance talent, but the truth is that there are a lot of really legitimate reasons why it makes sense to add this to your freelance contract.

Here are a few of our favorites:

🔹 Turn your top freelance talents to fans: Fiverr reported that 40% of freelancers cite medical coverage and health-related fears as their biggest issue, compared to just 55% of the general population. With so much competition to get top-tier contractors, health coverage is a serious perk that could get skilled freelancers to stick by your company with more commitment than you might expect from an ad-hoc worker.

🔹 Ensuring health and wellbeing: Ethically speaking, you might feel better about providing health coverage for all staff, no matter the official type of worker. After all, according to 2019 numbers, 17% of freelancers don't have any health coverage at all, and 40% rely on Medicare and Medicaid. A further 21% rely on their parents or spouse.
Even on a practical level, if your freelancers are sick and can't get access to the medical help they need, this can have a knock-on impact on your own business continuity.

🔹 Reducing premiums: When you're discussing health care options with your insurance provider, you might find that increasing the number of workers that you cover, or covering a larger subset of younger employees could reduce the premiums for the business and the employees, too. In a small business, covering freelancers might even allow you to qualify for group medical coverage in the first place.

🔺 How to Upskill as a Freelancer
#Freelancetips

Want to to expand your skillset? Here’s 5 ways to broaden your horizons and succeed as a freelancer.

1. Further Your Education
Active learning is paramount if you want to succeed as a freelancer. With ever-changing trends and advances in technology, freelancers have to stay on top of newfound industry demands – whatever sector they’re in. If you’re continually honing your skills and learning new ones, your earning potential rises, as does the quantity and variety of projects you can work on.

2. Focus on Personal Growth
While professional growth is a must for succeeding as a freelancer, personal growth is just as important.

3. Say Yes to Passion Projects
It’s understandable that freelancers are often motivated by the financial aspect of a project. However, it’s imperative to say yes to projects that motivate and inspire you at least every now and then – even if they don’t have the heftiest price tag. These projects will encourage you to get creative and learn techniques that you might otherwise never have tried.

4. Collaborate with Other Freelancers
One of the best ways to grow your skillset and expand your horizons is to network with other professionals in your field. This will expose you to different ways of working, and open up the possibility of collaborating with like-minded individuals.

5. Stay Organized
One of the best ways to enhance your freelance skills is to ensure that your business is well organized. When administrative tasks and client interactions become too time-consuming, there is little room left for upskilling.

❔ Why Current Contingent Workforce Programs are Not Adapting to the Modern Workforce
#Freelance

🔺 Organizational agility is critical in today’s fast-changing and unpredictable global business environment. However, most contingent workforce programs are stuck in the past and don’t have what’s needed to maximize the potential of their organizations’ evolving workforce, which includes a growing percentage of non-employees.

🔺 Traditional contingent workforce programs are typically built around a company’s temporary staffing workforce, which leaves out all other categories of non-employee workers, such as independent contractors, consultants, SOW-based workers and gig workers.

🔺 While these categories make up most of an organization’s contingent workforce today, in contrast to 10 years ago, most programs’ structure and goals haven’t changed to adapt to the modern contingent workforce.

🔺 To leverage today’s talent pool, where about one-third of the US workforce is a freelancer, contingent workforce programs must evolve to support all categories of non-employees.
