Fire and explosions forced the shutdown of Venezuela’s second-largest refinery, the 310,000-barrel-per-day Cardón facility.

The blaze, which erupted along a gas line connected to the diesel hydrotreater, was contained within an hour. Workers were evacuated, with no injuries reported.
