I've been photographing these old traffic lights in Japan, which apparently have different shades of red and green than what we're used to. I've been fascinated by these relics of a past era because - I know too well this could be an overinterpretation - they must have thought, like we all do today, that all the good things they had were the result of their own efforts, beliefs, and merits, and that they deserved to keep them forever. Then the world changes, and people fade into history before they could accept it's actually happening, leaving only these tiny marks for the next generation to see. And it all goes around again.
