Starting July 1 being an illegal will be a crime in Tennessee; local & state employers must verify immigration status for employment and access to benefits. Noncompliance will be met by various new penalties, investigated by state AG.

This is one example of how states can counter sanctuary jurisdictions and help ICE carry out its mission, like Indiana and Florida and Texas, Wyoming and WV.
