An Appeal To Pragmatism The Trump Administration through USCIS is moving to “cut off access to an avenue that allows millions of migrants to work legally while awaiting a decision on their asylum claims”.
‘A proposed Trump admin regulation unveiled on Friday would suspend the acceptance of asylum work permit applications until USCIS reaches the point where it decides all asylum cases within an average of 180 days. That requirement would almost certainly amount to indefinite pause on asylum-related work permits...over 77% of all legal entry applications take beyond 180 days.’
