While Trump's DHS is developing a detention empire across the states, documents show ICE is filing out tons of leases to acquire office space and staging grounds near every major city and populated area. These spots would host agents for arrest and lawyers for defense or prosecution. So far, since President Trump took office, ICE has more than doubled in size, tripled in funding and gone up over 90% in detention capacity. Police cooperation with ICE surged from 130 partners to 1,300 partners in one year under President Trump, weapons spending grew by 600%+, and the agency still has many billions in the bank.
