The 1% Remittance Tax which went active on January 1st affects up to 40% of aliens in the U.S. that use money transfer service. This will take a noticeable chunk of their weekly income, and an another traceable layer of migrant money flow to go after.
This tax should be risen to 15% or 37% at least, to press on migrants further and reintroduce the funds into U.S. circulation, and apply it to all transfers of any source. For the upcoming midterms these policy suggestions will be important to push.
