An Appeal To Pragmatism higher fees for visas and other forms of immigration go into effect next week
Asylum applications are now $100, the fee will repeat every year it pends; these used to be free. Applying for a work permit as an alien is now $550, and every renewal or extension will cost $275. 'Special migrants' such as juveniles will pay $250 to apply at all. Protection requests will cost $500, 10x the old price. Applications can be rejected.
