🔴 Three 17-year-olds arrested for operating a stolen data lookup service

French authorities shut down Reacher and its successor, Stryx, after identifying three teenagers suspected of administering the platforms.

Created in March 2026 and renamed Stryx in June, the service allowed users to search stolen personal data using information such as:

• Names
• Phone numbers
• Home addresses
• IBANs and bank account details
• Vehicle registration numbers

The platform offered free searches alongside paid subscriptions and credits. It claimed to index 730 million lines of data and had processed approximately 3.1 million searches.

France’s Office for Combating Cybercrime arrested the three suspects on October 6. Authorities closed the platforms the following day.

The teenagers are accused of receiving fraudulently extracted data and possessing or transmitting stolen data as part of an organized group.

They are scheduled to appear before a juvenile court in Paris on January 14, 2027, and could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
