Loudoun County deputies arrested Jose Otero Alveranga, 25, in Herndon on October 5, one day after the attack. He is being held WITHOUT BOND at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.

Deputies responded just after 2 a.m. on October 4 to the 46000 block of Community Plaza in Sterling. The suspect and victims were gone when officers arrived, but investigators later located both wounded victims at a hospital.
Their injuries were described as non-life-threatening. Detectives linked Alveranga to the incident and tracked him down in Herndon.

The sheriff’s office says the felony case includes an allegation that he possessed a f*rearm while in the country illegally. The investigation remains active.
Deputies did their job and put the suspect in custody. The victims now deserve a thorough prosecution, and any proven violations of criminal and immigration law should carry consequences
