DEVELOPING: Kentucky State Police are investigating following a late Sunday incident in which several inmates took control of the jail, several deputy jailers were injured, and an inmate escaped in Whitley County, according to KSP.
Three inmates — Randle, Cox and Fields — left their cell and went into the control room of the jail, according to KSP, then the three men attacked several deputy jailers in the control room, striking one in the head with a mop bucket and causing serious injury, stabbing another with a pencil, and deploying OC spray in another's face.
The injured deputy jailers were taken to Baptist Health Corbin and the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital for their injuries, where they were treated and released. Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for their recovery🙏🏻
