NEW: An NYPD officer was struck by a moped while crossing the street in Wakefield, according to police.
It happened just before 6:15 p.m. near East 228th Street and White Plains Road.
Investigators say the officer was trying to respond to a fight across the street and had the right of way. That's when the moped driver blew through a red light and struck the officer.
