The Pueblo Police Department is deeply saddened to share the passing of off-duty officer, Corporal Stephen Biggs.

He was in a wakeboarding accident on September 27, 2026, at Lake Pueblo State Park. After a search and recovery effort, his body was recovered on September 28, 2026, at approximately 2:00 a.m., with the Pueblo County Coroner's Office standing by.

Corporal Biggs has been employed with the Pueblo Police Department since October of 2010. During his career he served as a Patrol Training Officer, and he was a distinguished member of the SWAT team.  He had received 10 letters of commendation, three Medal of Valor awards, and the Distinguished Service award.
