Firstly, Cornell is settling out of court. This is guaranteed. This has been a PR nightmare for them, and it’s way easier to throw $5 million at this slut than let this circus continue.

Chi Phi National Fraternity is also settling out of court. Fraternities have big, fat, expensive insurance policies that they pay for every year just so they can settle cases like these. Insurance is actually a fraternity’s largest annual expense.
Plus this whole case has been a reputation smear campaign for them. Chi Phi already isn’t as big SAE or Pike or SigEp, and now they’re nationally known as a big rapey joke. Spring rush is in a few weeks, and what dude wants to join the fraternity that’s nationally famous for gangrape.
