Android 14 QPR1 Beta will be released next week, September 18th

Google has announced that the beta for Android 14 QPR1 will start next week, September 18th and will have the latest bug fixes and improvements set to be released in December 2023.

If you are currently enrolled in the Beta Program, you will automatically receive the Android 14 QPR1 update.

For those who wish to exit the Beta Program without the need to wipe their data, follow these steps:
- Opt out of the program before September 18th
- Ignore the downgrade OTA update
- Wait for the final public stable release of Android 14 (UP1A), which is expected soon. The OTA message will be labeled 'Downgrade' in the description

If you have already received the Android 14 QPR1 update and no longer wish to participate, you can opt out of the Beta Program and wait for the official Android 14 release.

To return to Android 13, simply install the downgrade OTA.

Android 14 Beta 5.3 Changelog

• Fixed an issue where apps crashed in some cases after a CallStyle notification was posted.
• Fixed various issues that could cause call or carrier service interruptions.
• Fixed an issue where the system was using an inefficient path when placing CPU restrictions on apps running in the background.
• Fixed issues with SurfaceFlinger that were causing a loss in system performance.
• Fixed an issue on Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet devices where the taskbar sometimes turned invisible while interacting with it.
• Fixed an issue on Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet devices where the animation on animated wallpapers stuttered when launching apps.
• Fixed an issue on Pixel Fold devices where the interface layout was misaligned while customizing the Home screen.
• Fixed an issue on Pixel Fold devices where the clock on the lock screen was flickering while animating.
• Fixed various issues that were impacting system stability and performance.

The known issues from Beta 5 still apply to Beta 5.3.
