🌈 Did you know that linear variable filters can significantly simplify fluorescence instrumentation?

🔬 Join us online for a webinar where our Sales Director, Oliver Pust, shows how linear variable filters can replace an entire filter wheel, act as a monochromator, and enable true snapshot hyperspectral imaging.

📝 The combination of linear variable filters, modern LED sources, and area scan detectors has fundamentally reshaped how fluorescence and spectral imaging instruments are designed.

✏️ This talk is part of the BioPhotonics Optical Filters Summit, taking place on September 9th at 4:00 PM CEST and organized by PhotonicsMedia.

✨ Designing metalenses often involves a difficult trade-off:

✅ High-fidelity simulation
✅ Faster design iterations

Achieving both can be challenging.

💸 This free workshop showcases a practical workflow that combines PyLumerical automation, RCWA library generation, full-device FDTD analysis, and inverse design techniques to streamline metalens development from concept to validation. Attendees will learn how to automate simulation workflows, reduce computational burden through symmetry-based approaches, and evaluate focusing performance using near- and far-field analysis.

Key topics include:

🔹 Automation with PyLumerical
🔹 Metalens simulation workflows
🔹 Inverse design strategies
🔹 MCP-enabled engineering workflows

𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗮 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘁 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿?

For decades, optical systems have been developed to help machines 𝘀𝗲𝗲.
But can light also help machines 𝗮𝗰𝘁?

Traditional AI control usually follows:
📷 Sensors → 💻 Digital computation → ⚙️ Mechanical action

A new generation of 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 is exploring a different approach:
💡 Light → Optical computation → Real-time control
Diffractive optical networks use carefully engineered structures that process information through the natural propagation of light.
Recent demonstrations show that these systems can move beyond image recognition and perform continuous control of unstable nonlinear systems, such as balancing an inverted pendulum.

👾 The exciting idea is not just faster computation.

🌚 It is computation that happens directly through physics—with extremely low energy consumption and minimal latency.

🤖 As AI hardware demands continue to grow, optical computing may provide a new path toward efficient intelligent machines.
