🏫 At Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), within the B-PHOT Brussels Photonics research group, we are looking for a motivated PhD student to join the MOSAIC project – Multimodal Optical Sensing and AI for Crop & Food Safety.

🔬 What will you work on?
You will contribute to the development of a new generation of handheld, all-in-one optical sensors for real-time and non-destructive analysis of plants and food products, while collaborating within an interdisciplinary research environment.

📝 Your research will combine:
💡 UV-VIS-NIR, fluorescence and Raman spectroscopy

🤖 Machine learning and AI-driven data analysis

📐 Optical design and miniaturisation using freeform optics

🌱 Applications in agriculture and food safety
