🎓 We're recruiting a doctoral student in computational physics of many-particle quantum systems!
🏫 Join the Division of Mathematical Physics at Lund University and contribute to cutting-edge research in theoretical and computational quantum physics.
🔎 This doctoral project focuses on developing advanced computational methods to investigate the behaviour of ultra-cold atomic and molecular quantum gases. Working at the intersection of many-body quantum physics, numerical modelling and high-performance computing (HPC), the successful candidate will help develop next-generation simulation tools to better understand complex quantum systems.
📝 The project offers opportunities to:
* Develop and optimise computational methods for many-particle quantum systems
* Work with state-of-the-art numerical techniques, including the multiconfigurational time-dependent Hartree (MCTDH) approach
* Collaborate closely with experimental researchers and contribute to modelling cutting-edge quantum-optical systems
* Gain experience in high-performance computing, scientific software development and international research collaborations.
🔬 Based in the Division of Mathematical Physics, you'll join a dynamic research environment with strong national and international collaborations, including research visits to partner institutions and opportunities to present your work at leading conferences.
📚 If you have a Master's degree in Physics, Engineering Physics or a related discipline, with a strong background in theoretical physics and computational methods, we'd be delighted to receive your application.
📆 Application deadline: 20 August 2026
