🎓 We're recruiting a PhD student in Experimental Quantum Materials to investigate the microscopic origin of the Thermal Hall Effect.
🔎 Based at the Division for Synchrotron Radiation Research, Department of Physics, Lund University, this exciting project will explore how heat is transported in quantum materials under magnetic fields using inelastic neutron scattering. The research aims to uncover the mechanisms behind the thermal Hall effect and contribute to our fundamental understanding of quantum matter.
👩🏫 The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Professor Elizabeth Blackburn, in close collaboration with scientists at ILL - Institut Laue Langevin in Grenoble, France, where a significant part of the project will be carried out. The position offers extensive opportunities to work at world-leading neutron and synchrotron facilities, collaborate with international researchers, and develop expertise in experimental condensed matter physics.
📚 If you have a Master's degree in Physics or a related field and are looking to pursue cutting-edge research in an international environment, we'd love to hear from you.
