🎓 We are recruiting a PhD student to the Hybrid Quantum Systems Laboratory at Chalmers.

📝 The project, funded by a Wallenberg Academy Fellowship, will trap cold strontium atoms near silicon nitride photonic waveguides to explore new regimes of light-matter coupling. The platform combines the long coherence times of Strontium atomic transitions with the strong atom-light interactions enabled by nanophotonics. Potential directions include entanglement-enhanced atomic sensors, superradiant lasing, and quantum simulation.

🔎 The work is mainly experimental: the student will build the apparatus from the ground up, with laser cooling and trapping, optics, and precision spectroscopy as central techniques.

💰The position is fully funded for four years.
