🎯 This PhD project focuses on advancing functional MRI (fMRI) of the spinal cord to non-invasively map neuronal function after spinal cord injury. The research involves developing and applying high-resolution 3T spinal cord fMRI protocols, combining peripheral nerve stimulation with neuroimaging, conducting studies in both healthy participants and patients, analyzing multimodal MRI datasets (functional, structural, and diffusion MRI), and developing advanced image-processing and machine-learning methods. The ultimate goal is to improve diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment monitoring of spinal cord injury through innovative neuroimaging technologies.
