The focus of this PhD position is the PREconception Folic Acid Clinical Efficacy (PREFACE) Trial, a landmark study funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. The trial addresses a crucial question in perinatal nutrition: Are folic acid and 5-MTHF (5-methyltetrahydrofolate), two different forms of supplemental folate, equally effective and safe during pregnancy?
