The research project focuses on the discovery and profiling of novel β-catenin binders. β-Catenin is a central protein in the Wnt signaling pathway, acting as a crucial interaction hub that regulates cellular growth, differentiation, and gene expression. Dysregulation of β-catenin and Wnt signaling is implicated in numerous diseases, including cancer, making it a key target for therapeutic intervention. Despite its importance, many endogenous β-catenin binders and the sequence determinants that govern their interactions remain unidentified. This project aims to systematically screen and characterize predicted and computationally designed β-catenin-binding sequences, offering the potential to uncover new molecular mechanisms and inform the development of innovative strategies for targeting aberrant Wnt signaling in disease.
