📢 Europe – PhD Position in Smart EV Battery Disassembly at University of Agder

🏛 University: University of Agder
🌍 Country: Norway

🎓 Fields:
Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, Environmental Engineering

Are you passionate about advancing sustainable mobility and eager to solve complex engineering challenges in electric vehicle (EV) battery management? If you are looking to make a meaningful impact on the circular economy and shape the future of intelligent manufacturing, this unique PhD position in smart disassembly strategies for end-of-life EV batteries could be your next academic milestone.

The research centers on developing a smart, automated framework for the disassembly and end-of-life (EOL) management of electric vehicle batteries. With the rapid increase in EV adoption worldwide, managing the surge of lithium-ion batteries reaching their EOL is a pressing environmental and economic challenge. Current battery dismantling practices are largely manual, costly, and inefficient, often overlooking the residual value and potential for reuse, repurposing, or recycling of battery modules and cells.
