Why is pneumonic plague considered so dangerous? Because it can move fast.
Pneumonic plague affects the lungs and can progress from fever, weakness, and cough to severe pneumonia and respiratory failure in a very short period of time.
Unlike bubonic plague, it can also spread person-to-person through respiratory droplets during close contact.
