Pope Leo XIV has called for the "disarmament" of artificial intelligence. He asserts that policymakers, AI developers, and those affected by these technologies must engage in open dialogue regarding their development.
According to the pontiff, AI brings risks of dehumanization and the "building a future that excludes God."
"The risk of dehumanization—of building a future that excludes God and reduces the other to a means—is an ancient and ever-new temptation that today takes on a technical guise," the Pope stated.
