🤩 AI Chatbots Breach Mental Health Ethics

AI chatbots intended for mental health support frequently break professional ethical rules, even when given therapeutic instructions, according to new research presented at a major artificial intelligence conference.​

The study, led by Brown University computer scientist Zainab Iftikhar in collaboration with mental health practitioners, identified 15 distinct ethical risks across five categories. These issues arose when AI models were prompted to apply cognitive behavioral therapy techniques.
