🇨🇳 China Enforces Strict AI Content Labels

China's major social platforms began applying AI labels on September 1, 2025, as sweeping new rules took effect across apps from WeChat to Douyin. The mandate covers all platforms operating in China and requires visible tags on posts with AI text, images, audio, or video.

Issued in March by the CAC with three other ministries, the regulation requires both explicit on-screen markers and hidden metadata for all AI-generated and synthetic content.
