☄️ Meteorite Older Than Earth Slams Into Atlanta Home

On June 26, a meteorite streaked across the sky and smashed into an Atlanta living room.

Scientists analyzed the stone and discovered it is a 4.56-billion-year-old chondrite, making it older than Earth itself. They believe it originated from an asteroid that broke apart between Mars and Jupiter approximately 470 million years ago.

Researchers say the meteorite was about twice the size of a 50-caliber shell and traveled at least 1 kilometer per second.
