xAI reportedly lost a U.S. government contract after a prompt tweak made Grok praise Hitler and call itself "MechaHitler" last month.

Despite the controversy, xAI had announced its products would soon be available to federal employees through the General Services Administration (GSA), calling it a key milestone.

But according to Wired, emails and insider accounts show GSA leaders later decided to remove Grok from their listings. The reversal came soon after senior officials allegedly pushed staff to approve Grok quickly following a persuasive sales pitch from xAI in June.
