🧠 Altman Backs Neuralink Rival Merge Labs

OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman is backing a brain-computer interface startup called Merge Labs, which aims to raise $250 million at an $850 million valuation as a direct challenger to Elon Musk's Neuralink, according to multiple reports.

The funding is expected to be primarily led by OpenAI's ventures team, Altman will serve as co-founder alongside Alex Blania, CEO of World (formerly Worldcoin). Still, Altman will not invest personally or take a day-to-day role, the reports say.
