π Scientists Clone First Yak in Tibet
Chinese scientists have created the world's first cloned yak at a research center in Tibet.
The baby yak was born on July 11 through cesarean section at a breeding facility in Damxung County. The black calf weighed 33.5 kilograms and could stand and walk soon after birth.
The healthy animal is the result of a two-year research project designed to improve yak breeds using advanced genetic methods.
