🤖 Amazon Reveals Vulcan Robot With Sense of Touch

Amazon has unveiled Vulcan, its first warehouse robot equipped with a sense of touch, using force sensors and AI to handle inventory with human-like precision in fulfillment centers in Spokane, Washington, and Hamburg, Germany, with plans for broader deployment across Europe and the U.S. in coming years.

Tactile feedback allows the robot to detect contact and adjust grip strength in real time, safely handling approximately 75% of the one million unique items in Amazon's inventory, including delicate or oddly shaped products that previous robots struggled with.
