🗺 AI GPS Alternative Navigates without Satellite

Tern AI has introduced the Independently Derived Positioning System (IDPS), which removes the need for satellite signals by using data from vehicle sensors and map information.

IDPS provides several important benefits compared to traditional GPS technology. Because it does not rely on external signals, it can offer reliable navigation even in difficult places such as parking garages, tunnels, and mountain areas where GPS often loses its signal. The system works in a closed loop, improving privacy by not sending out any data externally.

In addition, Tern AI is actively working to combine IDPS with popular map apps like Google Maps, Apple Maps, and Waze, hoping to eventually replace GPS.
