Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) is considering regulatory reforms that would allow banks to hold cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin as investment assets.

The policy update would enable banks to trade digital assets in the same way they trade stocks and government bonds.

Regulators also plan to let banking groups register as crypto exchange operators to boost market trust and provide easier access for individual investors.
