The x402 protocol processed 3M transactions but only $3M in volume — just $1 per transaction. Coinbase, Visa, and Google are building infrastructure where agents pay each other pennies. ElizaOS has 50,000 agents ready to deploy, but no real economic activity yet. Payment rails built for demand that doesn’t exist.
