The U.S. Department of State has approved a potential foreign military sale worth $4.5 billion to Qatar, which includes up to four KC-46A Pegasus aerial refueling aircraft and related equipment.
The deal includes:
- 8 PW4062 turbine engines.
- 10 AN/ALR-69A radar warning receivers [4 for vehicles, 6 spares].
- 15 Guardian (GTLA) laser transmitter units for Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures (LAIRCM) systems [12 for vehicles, 3 spares].
- 8 replacements for LAIRCM system processors.
- KIV-77 encryption unit.
- KY-100M encryption terminals.
- AN/PYQ-10 simple key loaders.
- AN/APX-119 Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) transceiver.
- Missile warning sensors.
- Cartridge and fuel-powered devices.
- Control interface units.
- User data unit cards.
- Electronic warfare database support.
Additionally, the deal includes precision navigation systems, airlift and airdrop support, training for personnel and provision of training equipment, as well as logistical support and program support related to the sale.
