The Baloch Liberation Front (BLF), in a statement, claimed responsibility for their assault on Kharan town, which injured five personnel, including a Major and a Colonel. The group displayed various types of weapons reportedly seized from a local police station.

The statement also released the identities of four of its militants who were among those killed: Mohsin Baloch alias Mureed and Hafeez alias Yasir Baloch, along with two commanders, Abdul Razaq alias Barag Jan, and Mubeen Baloch alias Mullah Rahmeen, who was, as per statement, holding the so-called rank of captain within the group.
