The AlcĆ”zar of Segovia is one of Spainās most remarkable castles. Built on a rocky promontory at the confluence of the Eresma and Clamores rivers, its unusual shape resembles the bow of a ship when viewed from above. For centuries, it served Spanish monarchs as both a fortress and a royal residence. Its spectacular location and architecture are outstanding examples of medieval defensive design.
