It's been a long time since there was anything about shaders

Found a package that draws iridescent/shimmering "drops" using a GLSL fragment shader

Looks nice

Six years ago, I created a Flutter channel and posted for the first time. A lot has changed since then. I've changed jobs and moved, and the channel itself has evolved. We now have several authors and social media accounts where you can follow us.

One constant, however, is the amazing community that has gathered around this channel, and it always brings me joy.

Thank you for being with us! 💙

Our favorite Filip Hráček wrote an interesting article comparing the performance of different state management approaches

What’s noteworthy is how the measurements were taken: devices with temperature control and a bunch of other gadgets ran for a full 5 days

The results turned out to be very intriguing

We won’t spoil it - better read the article and the conclusions yourselves 😉

If you only remember about Flutter DevTools during job interviews and find it to be a mystical voodoo ritual, then I have something for you. It’s a video series that breaks down this incredibly useful tool. The first video, which is dedicated to the Inspector, is already available on my channel.

If you’re interested in game development or 3D engines - today’s post is for you.

flutter3d is a modular 3D engine built on Flutter, created from scratch and entirely in Dart. It’s not a wrapper, not a binding, and not a layer on top of flutter_scene - everything is original and fully independent: renderer, physics, sound, game layer, and every piece is a separate package. The render backends are interchangeable: Impeller (Metal/Vulkan), WebGL2, and a software rasterizer in pure Dart.

The author has built three games of different genres on it: a shooter, a platformer, and a racing game, to demonstrate his creation in practice 🔥
These three genres also already have ready-made templates: you take the level editor and then only change what’s yours 😎

You can now run and debug Flutter apps for iOS on Windows and Linux, without a Mac. A subscriber to our channel 💪 has created a tool that makes this possible. Xcross can run the app on a real iPhone, use hot reload and hot restart, set breakpoints, and work with DevTools. You’ll need iOS 17+ to run it, and a free Apple ID is all you need.

📌 You can try out the tool via the link, and the author would appreciate your feedback.
