New thermostat for solar hotwater heater found. This is one rated for 120vac or 169vdc. Connect up 3 or 4 250w solar panels in series to a 120v water heater element and enjoy the hot water. use this thermostat and the existing pop-off safety thermostat in series. Do NOT use the adjustable thermostat that comes with the water heater. https://senasys.com/product/2570f444-34-epoxy-sealed-thermostat/

46kw of solar. Note the industrial pallet racking to raise panels out of the shadows of trees.

Well the gate opener is working again. Topens dual gate opener. They were very helpful during a warranty claim. Naturally I didnt' tell them it was a lighting strike. The only hold up is they didn't have the main board in stock.

So as it turns out the limit switches were bad as well. They smartly put a 10k resistor across the contacts of a reed switch so they can tell if the limit switches are connected (or burned up). Very clever.

So now we'll have a spare board on hand and a pair of limit switches too.

Why do you think the flag was taken down from theUS embassy in Moscow today? I heard the CIA went there to talk to Putin to stop what has been planned... but to no avail. I guess its about to hit the US dollar now. Only a matter of time now. I told you we were about to go down the rollercoaster... This is it. Right before the stern of the titanic goes below the water and Jack/Rose hold their breath. Are you ready?

Attention off grid people.

Ramen noodles go rancid 4 years after their expiration date. The noodles themselves, not the seasoning packet.

All of this transpired because the government needed an informant for the aryan nation in northern Idaho.

But don’t worry about this dear citizen. Your government loves you like Cathy Bates in Misery.

In the case of the farmer today, he showed interst in the mesh sytem because his sister lives in western north carolina and he couldn't get ahold of her when Helene went thru a year ago. I'm going to get him his first mesh companion as a "thank you" for the use of his silo.

Another mesh node up today. I have found the modus operandi.... Have the repeater in the car and any tools you need. Ask the farmer and climb tower in 10 minutes.

Figured out how to visually display packet paths. Meshcore for the win.

Well at 730 this morning my happy behind was up 120ft on a grain elevator installing a meshcore repeater. Look for Oswego SC (8CD6). This site is literally in the middle of nowhere and has a noise floor of -118db.

Apparently the incoming Argentinian beef has toxic junk in it-- heads up! China already rejected it.

Check the source of your beef or support a local rancher. 🐄

Over the past weekend, I got some tin up on the roof of the pole shed. I installed blocking between the purlins and that helped tremendously. I might be doing this the newbie way, but I'm using a straight edge to draw a line horizontally from the screw on the preceeding panel to the center of the purlin, then using a punch and a hammer to punch a hole where I want a screw to go. Finally shooting a screw in the hole. I learned a while ago on our other metal building that screws often dance around and don't start where you want them to start.... so best to either punch a hole or at least make a dimple for the screw to start.

Another detail... I'm damn near 60 and running up and down a roof like a spider monkey isn't as fun as it used to be.
