After days of considering restrictions on US diesel exports as prices surged, President Donald Trump said the idea is now off the table.
💬 “We're not going to be doing the export ban,” Trump said.
The shift follows a G7 agreement to release 100 million barrels of diesel and crude from emergency reserves, reached after US pressure on European allies. The Iran war has been a major factor behind the recent fuel-price shock, Reuters reported.
The US had previously used the prospect of an export ban to press Europe for additional supplies as US farmers and truckers faced record diesel prices.
