India has restricted access to Telegram nationwide until June 22, invoking an IT law provision tied to national sovereignty. The block targets cheating networks using the platform to leak questions ahead of the NEET 2026 medical re-examination scheduled for June 21.
The original exam, taken by 2.27M students on May 3, was cancelled after question papers were found circulating online beforehand. India is Telegram's largest market by downloads.
